CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Restorative / Gentle:
Beginning level class that focuses on foundational postures, movements and mindful breathing. Standing poses that build strength and endurance are taught
as well as slow, deeply held floor postures help to release the muscles of the hips and spine.
Appropriate for beginners and or those looking for a deeper stretch and more focus on relaxation in class.

Classic Postures- Level 1:
Classic Yoga postures and their modifications that cover the basic alignment principles and positions common to all styles of yoga. Body alignment is taught
and emphasized in each posture; develop stability, strength, and balance while deepening your practice and understanding of Yoga. Sun salutations are
introduced and practiced.
Appropriate for beginners that are ready for more intensity or for experienced practitioners that are looking for a lighter, calming class.

Ashtanga Full Primary Series:
A  90 minute led class following the set sequence and pace that is traditional to Ashtanga Yoga.  Aerobic and strength building; recommended for students
who are familiar with the classic postures and are ready for a challenge.  Class will begin with Surya Namaskara A and B (Sun Salutations); the breath and
movement are synchronized as the body smoothly flows through the postures. This practice is detoxifying and therapeutic as it builds body heat, increases
flexibility and strength while focusing the mind. Please see

Appropriate for intermediate level students or those familiar with the classical postures and wanting more aerobic intensity in their practice.

Ashtanga Intermediate Series Explored:
Sun Salutations A and B and fundamental standing postures followed by the Ashtanga Intermediate or Second Series. The Second Series will be led by and
instructor and abbreviated from the complete format. Postures are explored and modifications are given for those still mastering the sequence. There is an
emphasis on backbends, deep hip openers and inversions in the second sequence, while the Ashtanga Primary Sequence has an emphasis on forward
bending and core strength.

Ashtanga Fundamental Postures and Finishing Series:
A complete workout with 30 minutes of standing postures, 25 minutes of floor postures, and 20 minutes for the finishing sequence. This all level class is
intended for students who are new to the Ashtanga sequence of postures or those who would like a condensed, more gentle version of the full Ashtanga
Primary Series. We will begin with six sun salutations and follow with the Fundamental standing postures that are traditional to Ashtanga Yoga. The floor
postures will be condensed with a vinyasa placed in between each posture if you choose to do so. We will follow the traditional finishing sequence with
modifications for any student who desires one.

Vinyasa Flow: A flowing and balanced sequence with standing and floor postures. Class will begin with a warm up and link postures together while
coordinating movement  and breathe.  Class will finish with deeper stretching and slower movements. A full body work out that can be modified to fit all levels.

Power Yoga:
A fun class designed for those who want a workout that builds upper body and core strength with a balance of challenging postures and transitions with deep
stretching to increase flexibility. The series will begin with the traditional sun salutations (Surya Namaskara A & B) from the Ashtanga Series. Be prepared to
sweat!
Level 2 and up.

Sivananda Style Yoga:
A unique series that begins with floor postures followed by the standing postures. Designed to stimulate the chakra (energy) centers of the body from the
crown to the root (top of the head to the base of the spine), resulting in a peaceful, relaxed state. A series of gentle modified Sun Salutations will start the
class. (Modifications or alternative postures are always given.)
Light to Moderate Intensity depending on the modifications one chooses to use. Choices of
postures will be given to decrease or increase intensity
.

Focus Classes:
Special classes that will focus on a specific intention of practice or region of the body. Intentions include hip openers, improving low back and hamstring
flexibility, increasing spinal flexibility and rotation, shoulder and neck openers, digestion, balance, and mindfulness.
Appropriate for all levels

Lunar Yoga under the Full Moon:
Moon Salutations and calming postures under the full moon designed to gently open the body and calm the mind - all by soothing candlelight. This class is
held monthly on (or around) the evening of the full moon.
Appropriate for all levels. Some Yoga experience is encouraged as the lighting is low during class.
